Sereno Group Recognized As One Of The Top Philanthropic Organizations By Silicon Valley Business Journal

LOS GATOS, CA—November 10, 2014. Sereno Group was honored as one of the top 50 philanthropic corporate organizations in Santa Clara County for 2014 by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Sereno Group’s recognition was the direct result of its 1% for Good movement.

Sereno Group was joined on the top 50 list by Silicon Valley tech giants Applied Materials, Cisco Systems, Google, Intel, and Oracle, as well as other prominent Silicon Valley corporations. Sereno Group ranked 32nd out of the top 50 organizations recognized for their philanthropy. Sereno Group substantially moved up the rankings from last year where it ranked 48th. This 16 spot jump was the biggest increase in ranking of any of the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s top 50 honorees.

“We are tremendously grateful to be honored by the Silicon Valley Business Journal; it is extremely flattering to be recognized for our 1% for Good movement. The 1% for Good movement is part of the ethos of Sereno Group and its agents which is focused on community first.” said Chris Trapani, Founder and CEO of Sereno Group, “This award is a testament to the great Realtors we work with. It is incredible and humbling that our relatively smaller company with 235 Realtors would be sharing honors of giving alongside great organizations, such as the San Francisco 49ers, the Sobrato Organization, eBay, Adobe, and other longstanding, iconic Silicon Valley organizations.”

The 1% for Good program started mid-year 2012. The 1% for Good is an office specific, agent driven, grassroots movement that donates to local non-profit, community minded organizations. The 2014 recipients have been: There with Care, Peninsula College Fund, Friends of American Veterans, Theuerkauf Elementary Tech Arts, Saratoga Historical Society, Yu-Ai Kai Senior Center, CASSY Bay Area, Canine Companions for Independence, Morgan Autism Center, Santa Clara County Sheriff Search and Rescue, Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz, and Monarch Services.
