PALO ALTO—7 May 2013. Sereno Group’s Palo Alto office announced Bring Me a Book as their 2nd quarter recipient for their 1% for Good philanthropy campaign. During the months of April, May, and June, the Sereno Group Palo Alto team will be pledging 1% of their gross commissions to Bring Me a Book in support of their programs.
Founded in 1997, Bring Me a Book estimates only 50% of low income children are read aloud to daily, 33% of those children enter kindergarten lacking basic pre-literacy skills, and 66% of 4th graders cannot read proficiently. Bring Me a Book’s mission is to strengthen the language and literacy skills of California’s underserved children through read-aloud programs and the creation of children’s book libraries.

In 2012, Sereno Group announced the launch of their 1% for Good charitable philanthropy program. With 1% for Good, Sereno Group has pledged to give 1% of their gross commissions to a charitable or community minded organization committed to making a positive difference in the community.
The program is organized and directed by committees within each respective Sereno Group office. This structure allows each office the opportunity to choose local organizations, with their philanthropic contribution directly impacting the local communities. Organizations will be selected on a quarterly basis by each office, with the 90 day aggregate sum of donation dollars being delivered to the chosen beneficiary organizations at the end of each period.
